Abu Dhabi: The International Anti-Human Trafficking Conference has commended the UAE experience regarding combating anti-human trafficking crimes and provision of good care to victims.

The conference also lauded the cooperation among the authorities in the UAE, a move that boosted the UAE's efforts in international efforts of fighting human trafficking crimes.

A delegation from the UAE women and child victims shelter centres participated at the conference held in the Jordanian capital Amman to discuss the human trafficking and solutions to combat the crime.

The conference was held by the Jordanian Future Foundation under the theme: ‘Building civil societies network to combat human trafficking in the Middle East and North Africa'.

Sara Shuhail, executive director of the shelter centres and the head of the UAE delegation, presented a paper on the UAE shelter experience and services that are provided to the victims.

She said the UAE programmes on fighting human trafficking boost international efforts to tackle the repercussions of this crime.

The participants were lectured about the experiences of many countries.

The conference discussed the training of judges and social workers to assist victims and reviewed related laws and discussed the possibility of tightening them to punish perpetrators.
