Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways and Jet Airways have stopped child discount on fairs to India, effective from Monday, June 16, Gulf News has learnt.

Child discounts to India will not be applicable on any of the cabins, according to a travel advice issued by Etihad Airways on June 10 to travel agents, travel agents said. They said children between two and twelve have to pay adult fare to India on Etihad and Jet Airways flights as per Etihad travel advice, a copy of which was seen by Gulf News. However the discount to infants (up to two years) has been retained.

“Etihad Airways and Jet Airways now offer 168 non-stop flights each week between Abu Dhabi and 10 destinations in India, with the network set to expand further,” an Etihad Airways spokesperson told Gulf News on Thursday. “The fare strategy we have enables us to be highly competitive in the market, offering air travellers incredible value and flexibility on all our flights to India.

Jet Airways office in Abu Dhabi said it was not authorised to speak to the media. Its regional office in Dubai said senior executives were not available on Thursday as they had flown to Mumbai for a meeting.
