Dubai: Dubai Police will showcase Monday a range of its luxury sports police patrol vehicles at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The highlight of the show will be the unveiling of the Dh11 million Aston Martin One-77 which is set to join the Dubai Police patrol.

Dubai Police Operation Room will show the sports car at the ATM.

Dubai Police currently have vehicles which include Chevrolet Camaro, a BMW 5 series, a Lamborghini Aventador and a Ferrari FF while three new brands including Aston Martin, Bentley and Mercedes SLS will be joining the police team. They will be showcased at the ATM, the largest travel and tourism show in the region.

There are only seven Aston Martin One-77s in the world, with a price of Dh11 million.

Lt Gen Dahi Khalfan Al Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, said the luxury sports cars were to be used for security purposes with the Ferrari FF being driven by female patrol officers.

He earlier said that Dubai Police is one of the few police forces in the world which has such cars in its security patrol service.

He said the police received an amazing reaction from the public when the Lamborghini police cars hit the roads in Downtown Dubai so they decided to add more luxury sports cars to their fleet. “These sports cars will not be roaring and chasing speeding motorists,” he explained.

“They will be used for road security in different areas of Dubai,” he said.
