Dubai Municipality will construct a road network and parking slots for Zabeel Park, said Qasim Sultan, Director General of the civic body.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, has approved the Dh20.35 million project.

"The project comprises the construction of access roads to the three parts of Zabeel Park in Al Kifaf Area communities 324 and 325, setting up parking slots for approximately 2,350 vehicles, construction of pedestrian facilities, jogging tracks, footpaths, street lighting, drop off and pickup area and pedestrian crossings," he said.

A total of 4.3 km of access roads will be constructed as part of the project, which will include parking lots for disabled adjacent to the park gates.

The park is situated between various roads: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road to the northwest, Sheikh Rashid Road to the north, Road No.6 to the south; Road No. 21 to the southwest and Road No. 314, which divides the south part of the park from the north part.

The project also involves providing landscaping and automatic irrigation along access roads and parking areas. Sultan said the municipality's Technical Commi-ttee had reviewed the project recently.
