Dubai: If someone tells you that petrol companies in the UAE started charging for air and water facilities, would you believe it?

Social media users were left in doubt after rumours surfaced about how customers at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) will soon be charged for using air and the pressure devices at petrol stations.

On its official Twitter account, Adnoc announced an upgrade of air and water facilities at all their service stations.

The oil distribution company clarified there is absolutely no intention to charge for these services.

Jail and Dh1m fine

Under Federal Legal Decree No 5 for 2012 on combating cybercrimes, spreading rumours “damaging social peace and public order” and causing damage to “national peace” empowers the UAE government to prosecute concerned individuals.
