Ajman: A 37-year-old Egyptian worker died on Saturday morning after falling from an under-construction building in Ajman, an official said on Tuesday.

The worker, A.A.M., was on the third floor of an under-construction building when he lost balance, leading to his fall and immediate death.

The official explained: “The worker was not wearing a safety helmet while doing his job, leading to severe head injuries and death. Construction companies are held responsible for negligence, as they must ensure labourers strictly adhere to safety rules and regulations. The labour fell on steel bars.”

The victim was transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police have questioned managers of the company. The victim’s colleagues who witnessed the accident are also being questioned, the official added.
