Sharjah: A 45-year-old worker was killed after falling from a building under construction in Al Butaina area of Sharjah on Tuesday, a police official told Gulf News.
The victim was a Bangladeshi, identified as A.H.A., the official said, adding that the incident occurred around 8pm.
The worker reportedly slipped while going about his routine work on the upper floor of the building. He died on the spot.
Workers on the site reported the incident to the police. A team from the Criminal and Investigation Department (CID) transferred the body to the forensic laboratory.
Wasit police are investigating the case and have taken the management staff of the company into custody.
Sharjah Police are also investigating the death of a 27-year-old Emirati man whose body was found in a car in Al Sajja area.
Police received a call on Sunday around 5.40am reporting the incident.
Police have ruled out foul play.
A security team rushed to the place where the body was found. They took him to Al Qasimi Hospital, then to the forensic laboratory to ascertain the cause of death.
