Ras Al Khaimah: A maintenance firm employee died on the spot after he fell from the scaffolding of an old commercial cum residential building.
The incident took place in the old Ras Al Khaimah area on Wednesday morning, an official at Ras Al Khaimah Police told Gulf News.
Ras Al Khaimah Police, Ambulance and municipality officials rushed to the accident scene and moved the worker to hospital.
Workers at the site reported the incident to the police operations room at around 11am. They told police that the worker from Egypt, 27, was busy at work on the fifth floor of the building’s facade when the incident took place. They alleged that his foot slipped and he fell on the ground.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The body was moved to Saqr Hospital.
Dr Yousuf Al Tair, director-general of Saqr Hospital, said that the victim was dead on arrival at the hospital.
Ras Al Khaimah Police launched an investigation into the incident.
The deceased’s friend told Gulf News that he came from his home country only four days ago after celebrating his engagement.
