Kathmandu: UAE youth continue to serve the community by providing humanitarian aid in Nepal under the UAE Ambassadors for Community Volunteering initiative, which aims to attract young Emiratis to become representatives in different countries around the world to organise various educational, cultural, sports and social events.

Mouza Al Otaiba, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that UAE volunteers, in coordination with the official channels, have contributed to alleviating the suffering of children in Nepal by organising entertainment programmes and a variety of activities for those affected by the earthquake which killed more than 8,000 people.

Mouza also said that the UAE volunteer programme aims to attract and train young people in voluntary and humanitarian work in various fields, including health, educational, and environmental, both locally and internationally, in coordination with the parties concerned, and through a partnership with the world’s leading volunteer centres.
