Two-year-old boy drowns in pool in Mirdif

Dubai: A two-year-old boy drowned in his Mirdif home’s swimming pool on Sunday.

Major General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, said that teams from Dubai Police and Ambulance Services rushed to the scene, but the boy died before the team was able to save him.

The boy had accidentally fallen into the pool due to his parents’ negligence.

Police said that the majority of such accidents occur due to the negligence of parents or the children’s caretaker. Even a few seconds of neglect can lead to a mishap.
