Dubai: Police here rescued a severely fatigued tourist who lost his way on Hatta mountain and couldn't return after a long journey on foot, official said on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Ahmad Atiq Burqibah, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department at Dubai Police, said the tourist called Dubai police command room on Thursday night saying he is exhausted and was unable to go on a return journey.

"It was night and the tourist couldn't return back and he called us and send his location through Google Earth app. We rushed to where he was and rescued him," Lt Col Burqibah said.

The rescue teams found the tourist on the other side of their location near Hatta dam and they used rubber boats to cross the dam and reach his place.

"First aid was provided to the tourist and he is in good condition," Lt Col Burqibah added.

The tourist told the officer that he climbed the mountain on foot to enjoy the views but later he lost his way and couldn't find hiw way back after sunset.

He thanked police for their quick respond to his call and provide necessary help.
