Sharjah: Sharjah Police on Friday tracked down the parents of a three-year-old boy found alone and crying near a cafeteria in Al Gafya area, a few hours after residents reported the incident.

The cafeteria owner told police that he had seen the boy playing in the vicinity. Police with the help of a resident found the parents of the boy after a door-to-door search.

This is the second time in a month that the Pakistani child had been lost. On January 12, Gulf News had reported the first incident of the police finding the parents of the boy found wandering alone in Al Sabka area.

Police warned the parents that a case of negligence will be registered against them if this happens again. They were made to sign an undertaking, promising to take care of their son.

“His mother began crying and promised that they will take care. So we did not take any action,” an officer at Wasit police station told Gulf News.

Sharjah Police had earlier posted the boy’s picture on social media accounts and asked residents to contact Wasit police station if they had any information about his parents.
