Ras Al Khaimah: At least three people were seriously injured in a collision between two cars on Al Rams road in Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday night.

Colonel Saeed Ali Al Elkum, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al khaimah Police, said a 19-year-old Emirati man, identified as A.J.A., lost control of his vehicle and crashed it into a lamp post.

The vehicle then collided with another vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Asian man identified as S.A.B.

The impact of the crash caused the Emirati's vehicle to split in half.

A.J.A. was accompanied by a 17-year-old Arab youth, identified as M.A.A., in the car.

The Emirati driver, his passenger and the driver of the second vehicle were all injured in the crash, which was reported to police on Saturday night.

The three were transported to hospitals in Ras Al Khaimah.

Colonel Elkum urged road users to abide by traffic rules and regulations, to comply with speed limits, leave enough space between vehicles and to make sure the road is clear before changing lanes.
