Ras Al Khaimah: A 19-year-old Emirati man died on the spot, while his 21-year-old brother is fighting for life after the tyre of the car they were travelling burst and crashed into a truck, Brigadier Dr Mohammad Saeed Al Hamidi, director-general of the General Directorate of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said.
The accident occurred on Al Shuhada’a Road in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday.
Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when the tyre of their car burst crashed into a truck.
The passenger died on the spot due to the impact of the accident while his brother, who was driving the car, sustained serious injuries and has been moved to a hospital for treatment.
The body of the deceased was moved to the hospital morgue and was later handed over to his family for burial.
Brig. Al Hamidi urged motorist to carry out periodical car maintenance as well as check the safety of the tryes.
