Dubai: Dubai Police rescued a motorist who was stuck in a valley in Hatta after he tried to cross a flooded area.

Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, director of the Sea Rescue Department in Dubai Police, said they were alerted on Sunday night about a car that had fallen into a valley in Hatta with the driver trapped inside.

“We used a crane to lift the car to safety and rescued the driver who thanked us for our quick response,” Col Al Naqbi said.

“Some people tried to help him but they couldn’t because it was risky and dangerous. The rescue team used a crane to pull the car up and rescued the driver,” he added.

He urged drivers to stay away from valleys, low-lying areas or near dams during unstable weather.
