Ajman: A motorist had a miraculous escape after his car burst into flames in Mesherif area of Ajman on Thursday afternoon.
The vehicle caught fire at 1.13pm, said Major Khalid Ahmad Al Shamsi, acting director of the media and public relations department of Ajman Civil Defence.
The motorist was fortunate that he stopped the vehicle sensing there was some problem with the vehicle, which was on fire. Firefighters who rushed to the scene controlled the blaze, he said. The vehicle was completely damaged, he said. The case was handed over to the forensic laboratory to determine the cause of the fire.
Maj. Al Shamisi urged motorists to carry a fire extinguisher in their cars and to carry out regular maintenance to reduce the risk of fires.
