Ras Al Khaimah: A 19-year-old Emirati man died in a road accident on Monday afternoon, police said on Tuesday.

Colonel Salem Rabia’a, director of Al Rams police station, said the accident on Al Rams Road took place when a bus driven by a 50-year-old Asian man, identified as H.K., entered the road after taking a U-turn without making sure that the road was clear.

As a result, the victim who was on a motorcycle collided with the bus. The Emirati motorcyclist died on the spot and was identified as H.A.B.

Col Rabia’a said the bus driver, who was arrested, caused the accident and was taken into police custody for interrogation.

The accident was the second of its kind within a few days. On Friday, a 22-year-old Emirati man died and two others were hurt in Masafi area in Fujairah after their four-wheel-drive vehicle collided with a truck.

This accident occurred when the truck driver took a U-turn without ensuring the road was clear and caused the crash,
