Mumbai: An Emirates flight made an unscheduled landing in Mumbai this afternoon after a medical emergency was declared on board the Sydney-Dubai EK 415 flight.

A spokesperson of Mumbai International Airport Ltd said that a 22-year-old man, Stiffen Spatino, had complained of chest pain on the flight and seeing him Caramel Henson, a 64-year-old woman, began suffering from high blood pressure. The flight had to be diverted to Mumbai following the medical problem of these passengers who are both Australian.

The man along with his parents and the woman and her husband were offloaded at 2.10pm even as airport medical teams attended to them and administered emergency medical care. They were advised to take the opinion of specialists. The spokesperson said they were handed over to the airline authorities. The flight to Dubai was delayed by three hours.
