Ras Al Khaimah: A 26-year-old Emirati motorist died after his vehicle collided with another car and hit a lamppost in Al Muntasir Road in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday.
Brigadier Hassan Ibrahim Ali, Deputy Director of Police Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said police were alerted about the accident around 4pm.
According to the police, the victim was driving at a high speed and lost control of his vehicle when a car driven by a 43-year-old Arab motorist entered the road suddenly. The motorist died on the spot.
The victim lost control of his vehicle, the police said. The car veered off the road and collided with another car and smashed into the lamppost.
The body of the deceased was later handed over to his family for burial.
Brigadier Ali urged motorists to abide by traffic rules and speed limits on the road.
