Dubai: A minor fire broke out in a cargo ship just 12 miles off Jumeirah beach, police said on Sunday.
According to Dubai police, the fire started in in the ship captain's cabin but nobody was injured.
Dubai civil Defence teams rushed to the ship and extinguished the fire at 8:18pm.
"The crew were rescued by the coast guards. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported," the spokesman told Gulf News.
The number of crew or the reason behind the fire were not immediately known.
