Dubai: Seven people were injured after a fire broke out at a residential tower in Sharjah on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at around 7.03am at the Tiger 3 building in Al Taawun area.
Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, told Gulf News that five of the injured were treated at the site while two others were taken to the hospital.

Civil Defence teams from Al Nahda, Samnan and Al Mina, were immediately dispatched to put out the flames, which allegedly started from a kitchen in an apartment on the eight floor of the building.
Residents of the 40-storey building were evacuated soon after the fire broke out. The baze was brought under control at around 8.30am, according to the Civil Defence.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Residents of the tower will be allowed back into their residence once the investigation is complete, police said.
