Sharjah: Nai'a Obeid Al Qayidi, a well-renowned Emirati poet, died on Saturday evening following a traffic accident on Sharjah Road.
The 39-year-old victim was driving towards Al Dhaid when he lost control of his vehicle, causing the car to overturn.
Sharjah Police operations room received a call on Satudfay around 8.30pm reporting the incident on Sharjah Road between bridge 11 toward bridge 12, officials said.
Tributes have poured in on social media from followers and friends of the poet.
The funeral was held at Al Owais mosque on Sunday morning and the body was buried in Al Khidheira cemetery.
