Ras Al Khaimah: A young Emirati man was killed early on Thursday morning in a road accident after his car rammed into a truck on Al Saadi Road in Ras Al Khaimah, RAK Police said.
Colonel Ali Saeed Elkum, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department at RAK Police, said the victim identified as F. N .J. died instantly when he rammed his car into the back of a truck driven by 39-year-old Asian man identified A. K .K.
Police operation room was informed about the incident at around 6.15am, and within minutes, patrols and paramedics were on the crash site.
The Emirati motorist was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The truck driver suffered no injuries.
Col. Elkum said initial investigations showed that the accident occurred due to lack of safe distance between the Emirati’s vehicle and the truck. The truck driver, he said, was surprised by the car colliding with the back of his vehicle.
The official appealed to drivers to abide by traffic laws and pay attention to the road in order to avoid such accidents.
