Dubai: Dubai Police have warned parents against leaving their children inside locked cars after recording two incidents in two days in Al Rashidiya area.

Brigadier Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman, director of Al Rashidiya police station, said the first incident happened in Al Warqa 1 area when two officers responded to an emergency call about a boy who had locked himself inside his father’s car after the father left the key inside.

He added that the next day, the same officers rescued another child who was forgotten by his parents inside the car.

“Parents shouldn’t leave their children inside cars even if it’s for a few minutes. It is a dangerous behaviour as children can play with the car’s systems and endanger their lives and become suffocated,” Brig Bin Sulaiman said.

The two officers — Hamad Mousa Shokri and Esmail Hassan Gulam — were honoured for their quick response to the emergency calls in the two incidents. The duo also received a certificate of appreciation.

Brig Bin Sulaiman praised the two officers who thanked the former for the gesture and said it is a motivation for them to serve and protect people.
