Abu Dhbai: Three people sustained minor to serious injuries due to concrete girders collapsing in Al Raha Beach area, Abu Dhabi police announced on Thursday.
The injured were taken to hospital and are in stable condition. Engineering and road safety patrols of Abu Dhabi Police examined the accident site in the presence of investigators from Abu Dhabi public prosecution and civic officials.
Abu Dhabi Airports authorities refuted a report circulated on social media, which said a bridge collapsed at Abu Dhabi Airport. “Abu Dhabi Airports confirms that there has been no collapse of any bridge at Abu Dhabi International Airport. There has been an incident involving the roadworks at the roundabout on the approach to the airport area, and this is being handled by the contractor. There is no impact on operations at the airport,” an Abu Dhabi Airports spokesperson told Gulf News.
