Ras Al Khaimah: A boat that sank off Al Qawasim Corniche was recovered by maritime rescue teams in Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday.
Captain Yousuf Al Mansouri, Head of the maritime rescue section, Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the police operations room was notified that a boat had sank and fishermen had failed to pull it out of the water because of its weight.
The rescue and emergency team moved to the scene and pulled the vessel from the water and handed it over to the owner, Captain Al Mansouri said.
He urged boat owners to exercise caution and avoid relying on workers to watch the boats.
He said that the Rescue Maritime Section had developed a special programme to monitor the beaches of Ras Al Khaimah, to ensure safety, and to meet any emergency call for help at any time to prevent tragedies.
