Dubai: A fire was reported on Monday at the Dubai Marina, which according to social media users, happened at the Movenpick hotel at around 10am.

According to Dubai's Civil Defence, the minor fire was swiftly put under control.

In a series of tweets, Movenpick at the Jumeirah Beach Residence confirmed that all guests were safe.

“We can confirm that a fire was reported in our hotel today. The fire was swiftly brought under control and all guests were safely evacuated,” it said.

This is the third fire that has taken place within one week at the marina area.

A fire broke out at the Marina Torch Tower early last Friday, prompting the evacuation of the 87-storey residential building.

Fire experts from Dubai Police’s forensic department continue to investigate the site, gathering evidence to determine the cause of the blaze.

Police also confirmed that once the process is completed, residents will be allowed to move back into the building.

The minor fire broke out around noon on the 53rd floor of the 73-storey tower, and was brought under control within minutes.
