Al Ain: A fire broke out in a building in the Al Ain industrial area on Tuesday afternoon which did not lead to any injuries thanks to the quick intervention of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence.

“We were at the location within four minutes of getting the call regarding the fire which came to the police station around 1.18pm,” said Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Hamar Ein Al Darmaki, Director of Al Ain Civil Defence.

The building is reported to have contained nine stores including a carpentry shop and one for plastic supplies.

Al Darmaki said that the civil defence proceeded to extinguish the fire as soon as it reached the location and managed to control it and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings, in record time.

“There were no injuries resulting from the fire and an investigation is being carried out to find out the reason behind it,” Al Darmaki added.

He also urged shop owners to pay attention to safety rules and regulations to prevent fires and accidents.
