Tunis: Tunisia’s prime minister says the country is on track toward stability and announced the creation of a new operations room to fight terror.
On the occasion of his first 100 days in office, Mehdi Jomaa described the progress of his interim government in restoring security and repairing the economy.
Tunisians overthrew their dictator in 2011, kicking off pro-democracy uprisings around the region but also plunging their country into a period of unrest and economic difficulty.
Jomaa said in a news conference Wednesday night that different institutions involved in the fight against terrorism would be pulled together to come up with a common strategy.
He also promised reforms of the banking sector, public enterprises and subsidies to fix the economy.
