Abu Dhabi: The UAE will not take unilateral measures against Syria as it is committed to the Arab League’s stand and all resolutions, a top UAE official said.

Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, was reacting to media reports claiming that Dubai Government has banned flights to Syria.

“The UAE will not take unilateral measures against Syria, and these media reports are baseless and untrue,” he said.

“As we deny such reports, we reaffirm that the UAE will not take any measures unilaterally, as it is a member of the Arab league and will abide by all its collective resolutions,” Al Mansouri said.

The Arab league has yet to decide on air flights to Syria, and thus the UAE reiterates its abidance by the Arab League’s stand and all resolutions that may be issues with regard to Syria.
