Palestinians get death penalty for helping Israel
A Palestinian military tribunal sentenced two Palestinians to death for collaborating with Israel.
Jenin, West Bank: A Palestinian military tribunal sentenced two Palestinians to death for collaborating with Israel.
The three-judge panel on Tuesday convicted the two of treason and immediately sentenced them to death by firing squad.
However, in most cases, the death penalty in the Palestinian territories is commuted to a life term.
One defendant remains at large.
Judge Abdul Karim Al Masri said the two defendants are part of a network of 12 informers held in Palestinian custody.
He says four Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces as a result of information the group gave to Israel.
