Palestinian shot dead by Israeli policeman after robbery
Police say an officer in Occupied Jerusalem shot and killed a Palestinian man who allegedly tried to run him over.
Occupied Jerusalem: Police say an officer in Occupied Jerusalem shot and killed a Palestinian man who allegedly tried to run him over.
The fatal shooting came after a botched robbery. However, in the past year, there have been several cases of Palestinians in Jerusalem using bulldozers to attack Israelis. The most recent bulldozer attack was carried out earlier this month.
Police spokesman Shmuel Ben Ruby says that in Saturday's incident, police responded to a report about a robbery in progress at a clothing store. When police arrived, the suspect and a woman accomplice fled in their car. Ben Ruby says the man tried to run over the officer who opened fire, killing the suspect. The woman, an Israeli, was arrested.
The man reportedly had a criminal record.
