- Israel says Fatah supporters will be sent to the West Bank instead of Gaza where they face danger.
Occupied Jerusalem: Israel on Monday said it is sending to the West Bank dozens of pro-Fatah Palestinians who fled from Gaza.
Israel said the Fatah supporters will be sent to the West Bank instead of Gaza where they face danger.
The first group of 32 Fatah supporters were sent back to Gaza on Sunday and they were immediately arrested by Hamas.
Israel's Defence Ministry said it stopped the return of the Fatah men to Gaza when it discovered "that their lives were in immediate danger."
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had ordered nearly 200 fighters who fled a Hamas raid to return to Gaza from Israel, insisting that his forces must have presence in Gaza.
More than 180 Fatah supporters fled into Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday after escaping a Hamas crackdown that killed at least nine people.
