Internal violence raises head after blasts in Gaza
A health official in Gaza said on Saturday that two more Hamas members have died of injuries sustained in an explosion in Gaza.
Gaza City: A health official in Gaza said on Saturday that two more Hamas members have died of injuries sustained in an explosion in Gaza.
Three Hamas members and a 6-year-old girl were killed in an explosion near a crowded Gaza City beach late on Friday. The blast also wounded 15 people.
Dozens of supporters of the Hamas rival Fatah were arrested after the explosion, and the Hamas government plans set a meeting Saturday to discuss the incident.
Friday night's blast was the third of the day. In the first, a man was killed while setting off a bomb outside a cafe. The second was detonated outside the home of a Hamas lawmaker.
The Hamas armed wing blamed Fatah for the blast, and said they have information on more plots to carry out bombings against Hamas.
"We have information that some elements are planning to carry out bombings against the interests and leaders of Hamas in order to sow anarchy," said senior Hamas leader Khalil Al Hayya.
Fahmi Al Zarir, a Fatah spokesman in the occupied West Bank, said: "Fatah was not behind the incident. We in the Fatah movement do not resort to violent means for ending the coup in Gaza."
