Gaza: Crossings into Gaza remained shut on Friday as Palestinian fighters fired a rocket at an Israeli town near the Gaza Strip, Israeli police said.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says the rocket launched from Gaza landed in an industrial zone in the town of Ashkelon.
The Israeli military said all crossings into Gaza remain shut because of the ongoing rocket fire. Israel has said the closure will continue if rocket attacks persist.
The closure has caused shortages of basic goods and fuel for Gaza's 1.4 million Palestinians.
