Gaza: In a new recording, Al Qaida deputy leader Ayman Al Zawahiri called on Muslims to protect Palestinians in Gaza.
The five-minute audio statement was posted on radical Islamist website on Sunday. Its authenticity could not be immediately verified.
"Let them know that every dollar they spend on the killing of Muslims, there will be shed blood instead in return," Zawahiri said.
Zawahiri also urged Muslims to take action instead of protests. "If you let the people of Gaza be killed today, while you shout and demonstrate, tomorrow the events will turn around and the Crusaders and the Jews will kill you," he said.
The statement's release follows a message from Osama Bin Laden last week, calling on Muslims to "liberate" Palestinians in Gaza from Israeli sanctions.
