Syrian foreign minister to visit Beirut
Syrian Foreign MinisterWalid Muallem is visiting Beirut on Monday, a Lebanese official said on Sunday.

Beirut: Syrian Foreign MinisterWalid Muallem is visiting Beirut on Monday, a Lebanese official said on Sunday.
Muallem is expected to deliver an invitation to Lebanese President Michel Sulaiman from Syrian President Bashar Al Assad to visit Damascus.
"It is expected that the question of diplomatic relations will be raised during the visit. We hope it will mark a new step in Syrian-Lebanese ties," said Syria's Al Watan newspaper.
Lebanon and Syria last week announced they had agreed to establish diplomatic relations and to open embassies in both capitals.
