One killed in shootout in north Lebanon
A shootout between Lebanese soldiers and a group of gunmen in the northern port city of Tripoli has left one of the gunmen dead and two wounded, a security official reported.

The official says the shooting occurred early Friday in the mostly Sunni Bab Al Tabaneh neighbourhood.
The official says the soldiers were pursuing the gunmen who were in a car. He says the gunmen opened fire first and soldiers shot back.
Soldiers later fanned out in the area and arrested 10 people.
It wasn't immediately clear if the shooting was related to Islamic militants active in Tripoli.
