Israel may withdraw from Lebanon border village

Gajar has been occupied since 2006

Occupied Jerusalem: Israel's foreign minister says Israel could soon withdraw from the northern part of a disputed border village, but progress will depend on the new Lebanese government.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry says Avigdor Lieberman delivered his assessment about the village of Gajar in a meeting with his Italian counterpart late Wednesday.

A border drawn by the United Nations in 2000 split Gajar between Lebanon and the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights. Israel has occupied all of Gajar since 2006.
