Amman: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will safely transfer Arab citizens who were onboard the Freedom Flotilla back to their home countries.

Dr Nabil Al Shareef, Jordan’s Minister of Communication and Media affairs, said the ministry through the Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv, has taken all the necessary procedures to ensure the transfer of citizens from different Arab countries who were onboard the ship.

He said the move is in line with the directives of King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The countries that asked for the return of their citizens through Jordan are: the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Morocco, Algeria, and Pakistan.

"Coordination will continue with the rest of countries whose citizens were onboard the Freedom Flotilla, and those who were injured during the Israeli attack on the vessels would be provided treatment at Jordanian hospitals," Al Shareef said.

Dr Al Shareef also said the Jordanian embassy consul and staff in Tel Aviv are exerting all efforts for protecting Jordanian citizens until their safe return. It is also working on ensuring the return of all Arab and Muslim citizens to their home countries.
