The US military said Tuesday eight soldiers were killed the day before, the worst casualty figures in a single day for months.
Baghdad: The US military said Tuesday eight soldiers were killed the day before, the worst casualty figures in a single day for months.
Five US soldiers on foot patrol were killed Monday when a suicide bomber blew himself up as he approached them. Iraqi police said two civilians also died in the attack.
Meanwhile, in Diyala Province, three US soldiers and their interpreter died after an improvised bomb exploded.
The attacks marked the deadliest day for American forces in Iraq in months.
