The death of three US soldiers in separate attacks in Baghdad has driven the American death toll in Iraq during April to 47, the military said on Wednesday.

A roadside bomb in northwestern Baghdad killed one soldier, while another died of wounds sustained from attacks by small-arms fire. The third died from another roadside bombing on Tuesday night.
Following the latest figures, April is now the deadliest month since September 2007.
The total number of US casualties in Iraq now stands at 4,059 members at least, according to a count by the Associated Press.
Meanwhile, two people were killed and 16 wounded overnight as fighting continued in Baghdad's Sadr City.
