Sunni shaikh killed in Iraq attack
Baghdad: An anti-Al Qaida Sunni shaikh has been killed in a suicide attack in Iraq's Diyala province, police said.
Shaikh Faez Al Obeidi, deputy head of the Diyala Support Council, was hosting a gathering at his home when a suicide bomber walked in and detonated his explosives belt.
The explosion killed Obeidi and four of his relatives, also members of the Diyala Salvation Council, a group opposed to Al Qaida militants.
Ten others were wounded in the blast, police said.
