Sunni block agrees to rejoin Iraqi government
The Sunni Accordance Front agreed to rejoin the Shiite-led government of Prime minister Nouri Al Maliki on Thursday, nine months after quitting the government.
Baghdad: The Sunni Accordance Front agreed to rejoin the Shiite-led government of Prime minister Nouri Al Maliki on Thursday, nine months after quitting the government.
Salim Abdullah, a spokesman for the block, said the front has agreed in principle to return five ministries after "positive negotiations" with Al Maliki's government.
Abdullah said he expected new ministers to be named next week.
