Baghdad: The US military said a roadside bombing has killed three American soldiers and two Iraqi civilians northwest of Baghdad.
The deaths raise to at least 3,996 the number of American troops who have died since the war started five years ago.
The military says a third soldier also was wounded in Saturday's bombing.
The statement does not provide more details about the location of the bombing. The soldiers' identities have not been released because relatives have not yet been notified.
Violence has declined across Iraq, but attacks continue against US and Iraqi forces.
