Hilla, Iraq: At least 25 people were wounded when a bomb exploded in a small town in southern Iraq on Wednesday, police sources said.

The sources said the bomb went off in a popular area with restaurants and coffee shops in the town of Al Hamza, just south of Hilla, 100km south of Baghdad.

They said the toll was an initial one.

Military bus

In western Iraq, a bomb attached to a military bus killed 15 Iraqi soldiers and wounded 20 others. 

Car bomb kills 13 outside Iraqi restaurant

Baghdad: An Iraqi doctor says 13 people have been killed in a morning car bombing outside a restaurant south of Baghdad.

Dr Zuhair Al Khafaji of the Hillah hospital says the explosion, shortly before 8 am on Wednesday, also wounded 41 bystanders in the town of Al Shumali.

The town is about 90km south of Baghdad.
