Baghdad: The new US ambassador to Iraq has arrived in Baghdad to take up his post.
Christopher Hill formally presented his credentials on Friday to Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari.
He arrives in Baghdad three days after being confirmed by the Senate.
Hill's appointment comes at a time of rising insurgent violence in Iraq.
