Mosul: Seven members of an Iraqi family were killed by gunmen in a northern Iraqi town on Monday, police said.
Gunmen stormed the home of the minority Yazidi sect family after midnight in the town of Sinjar, west of Mosul, killing a woman, her husband, and the couple's adult children.
The attack is not the first time on Yazidis, an ancient religious community in Iraq and Syria, whose members are considered infidels by some Muslims and Christians.
Last year, suicide truck bombers killed hundreds of people in Yazidi villages north of Mosul in one the deadliest militant attacks in Iraq's history.
