Tikrit: A suicide bomber struck a police patrol in northern Iraq's Salahuddin province on Sunday, killing at least seven policemen.
Among the dead were a captain and a lieutenant, said Dhuluiya police chief Colonel Mohammed Al Jubouri. The three wounded were taken to a US military hospital.
Two other policemen were also wounded in the explosion in Dhuluiya town—the latest in a series of militant attacks on Iraqi forces.
The attack came as Iraqi forces were gradually trying to take over responsibility for Iraq's security from the US military.
