Baghdad: Officials say roadside bombs targeting Iraq security forces have killed two civilians in Baghdad.

Police and hospital officials say the first bomb exploded about 8:30 am near a police patrol at a commercial complex in the Karradah neighborhood. One civilian was killed and five other people, including three policemen, were wounded.

Officials say a bomb targeting Iraqi soldiers patrolling the area exploded about an hour and a half later, killing one bystander and wounding three others.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to release the information.

Thursday's blasts follow a deadly week in Iraq, raising concerns about an uptick in violence as the US military prepares to withdraw by the end of this year.
